Factors We DO NOT Consider for Freshman Admission
Major Choice
Many students are surprised to learn that we do not admit students based on major. While you will choose an anticipated major when you apply, this is not a factor we consider when making admission decisions. This policy is indicative of the flexibility you will have to change your major once admitted or after enrollment at the Institute.
TOEFL/IELTS Exam Scores
Georgia Tech does not accept or evaluate TOEFL or IELTS exam scores for undergraduate admission.
Other Recommendations
We will only accept one (1) recommendation from the teacher of your choice. Any additional recommendations will not be considered with your application. Should we receive multiple recommendation letters for your application, we will only use the first one that arrives in our office.
Class Rank
Class rank does not factor into the admission process at Georgia Tech. Rather, we rely upon your academic information, extracurricular activities, and essays to evaluate your application for admission.
Personal Interview
Due to the volume of applications we receive each year, we are not able to accommodate personal interviews. Instead, we rely on you to convey all that we need to know about you through the application. Don’t overlook the “Additional Information” portion of our application if you have something relevant to share that doesn’t fit into another part of the application.
