Daily Information Sessions and Walking Tours

The Office of Undergraduate Admission Special Programs offers a variety of ways to get to know Georgia Tech through campus visits. Listed below are the information sessions and campus tours that are held on a regular basis, except for the College of Management Tours and Information Sessions.

All sessions begin in the Bill Moore Student Success Center and follow each other in a timely sequence. Guests should attend all of the sessions in which they have interest. We encourage prospective students to register in advance by visiting www.visits.gatech.edu/register .

OFFICE CLOSURE

Daily information sessions and tours are offered weekdays during normal business hours. Information sessions and tours are not offered on the following campus observed holidays:

  • New Year's Day Observed
  • M. L. K. Jr. National Holiday
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Break- Thursday and Friday
  • State Mandated Furlough- December 21 - 24, 2009
  • Winter Break- December 25, 2009 - January 3, 2010

We will also be closed for afternoon tours and information sessions on the afternoon of the business day preceding all of the above dates.

ADMISSION INFORMATION SESSION

This session is designed to give high school or potential transfer students an introduction to Georgia Tech. The Admission Information Session is conducted by a counselor from the Office of Undergraduate Admission who discusses the admission process, Georgia Tech rankings in various fields, undergraduate research, work programs, campus activities and student life. The session also provides an opportunity to ask any general questions about the Institute.

Admission Information Sessions are held at 10 AM and 1 PM Monday through Friday in the Bill Moore Student Success Center, except holidays. The sessions typically last one hour and are followed by a campus tour.

ENGINEERING INFORMATION SESSIONS

Geared toward the prospective students looking to join the College of Engineering, this session is led by a current undergraduate engineering student. The student discusses core classes required for all engineering majors, co-op opportunities, various types of engineering, and job prospects.

The Engineering Information Session is held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 12:30 PM in the Bill Moore Student Success Center, except holidays. The session lasts about 30 minutes.

COLLEGE OF COMPUTING INFORMATION SESSIONS

What exactly is computing? Don't just hear about it, experience it! Join us for an interactive and informative session lead by instructional and administrative staff as well as students. This session is your opportunity to experience two of the most exciting majors at Georgia Tech. Learn about the curriculum, student organizations, as well as research, international and career opportunities. This is your chance to have a personal experience with Computing at Tech.

Join us Mondays at 3:45 PM in room 360 of the College of Computing building, except holidays. The session typically lasts an hour. Group tours are available every Wednesday and Friday (except Institute holidays) by appointment with at least two week's notice. TRANSFER INFORMATION SESSION

Specifically designed for prospective transfer students, this session is led by one of the transfer admission counselors. Both students who have already applied and those who have not yet applied are welcome and encouraged to attend this session in order to meet personally with a counselor and review specific information, including requirements and transfer credits.

Transfer Information Sessions are held every Friday at 2:00 PM in the Bill Moore Student Success Center, except holidays. We encourage prospective students to register in advance by visiting www.visits.gatech.edu/register .

CAMPUS WALKING TOURS

A current Georgia Tech student leads a group of students and parents on a 75-90 minute walk around campus. Tour groups are able to see campus common areas such as the Student Center as well as typical classrooms, the library, and a dorm room. Some of the highlights include the Campus Recreation Center and Bobby Dodd Stadium.

Campus tours are held at 11 AM and 2 PM Monday through Friday, except holidays. As our tour is a walking tour, comfortable shoes are advised. In case of inclement weather, it is best to be prepared with rain gear as we tour rain or shine. For students and guests with physical handicaps or injuries who are unable to participate in a walking tour, other arrangements can be made ahead of time by calling our office. Tours begin and end in the Bill Moore Student Success Center.

COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SESSIONS & TOURS

The new home of the College of Management at Technology Square is the physical manifestation of a vision for the future, making the College one of the best technologically focused business schools in the nation. The new location is a natural setting for exploring synergies between management and technology. This new building will allow the College to fulfill its mission of excellence in the functional areas of business and respond to important and timely issues on Georgia Tech's agenda-issues like technology entrepreneurship and commercialization, management of change and innovation, financial performance and analysis, managing the extended value chain, and enterprise globalization.

Every Monday (except for holidays*), the College of Management offers building tours at 4pm and information sessions at 4:45pm. Tours are led by current management students and the information session is given by the Director of Undergraduate Programs at the College of Management. Tours and Information sessions showcase the trading floor, state of the art classrooms and study areas, the curriculum of the undergraduate management program, career services offered to business students, dean's scholarship, and the numerous opportunities and resources available to undergraduate management students.

SATURDAY INFORMATION SESSION FOR NON GEORGIA RESIDENTS

We will be holding three Saturday information sessions this spring exclusively for out-of-state students and families. Each session will start at 1:00 pm and will be held in the Bill Moore Student Success Center. Immediately following the information session, a walking tour of campus will be provided. Parking is available at the Burge Parking Deck located directly across from the Student Success Center on North Avenue. Click here to RSVP today!
